Maintaining a stable colour temperature across the full dimming range is genuinely difficult, and it's where cheap tunable white systems fall apart. When you dim a two-channel fixture, both channels have to dim in precisely coordinated ratios, or the colour drifts — you set 3000K, dim to 20%, and it drifts pink or green.
This is one of the practical reasons DT8 exists: with the mixing logic inside a single driver, the ratios stay coordinated. With older two-address approaches, coordination happens externally and is harder to hold steady.
